On the first Friday of every month, The Frame Gallery in downtown Bryan hosts a really nice art event perfect for date nights, the whole family, or a solo break in monotony with art on display, live music, and a hands-on activity– this week, the art of Lucija Tijunelis is on display, and you can even give pressed floral collage a try firsthand!


Event details: Original Art by 50+ artists- and three special exhibits this month:
- art by Lucija Tijunelis
- photography by children served by Early Childhood Intervention (ECI)
- and artwork by patients and friends of Hospice Brazos Valley

Live Jazz and Blue, live music 6:30pm to 9:30pm, Special Art Activity this month: make your own collage with dried plant materials from the collection of Lucija Tijunelis. Refreshments and cash wine bar.

September 15th
From mid-October through mid-November 2007, a selection of Lucija Tijunelis’ works will be on display for purchase in a Manhattan gallery. The memorial exhibit honors the life of the artist as Lithuanian immigrant, American citizen, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and folk-art innovator.

May 31st
Many have expressed the desire to pay respects to Lucija by attending a service in her honor. On Friday, June 15 th at 6pm in the Chapel at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (College Station, TX), we will celebrate Evening Prayer with Brazos Valley Schola Cantorum – This should be lovely and fitting such a wonderful lady!

May 17th
Lucija Tijunelis passed away peacefully in her sleep on the 16th of May 2007. She remains in our hearts a beautiful, “immortal flower.”

April 18th
Lucija “Mamaite” Tijunelis has 15 beautiful pieces on public display at The Brazos Center in Bryan, Texas. This showing will last from mid-April through mid-June.

July 4th

Singer/song writer Jenny Morgan, an area musician, commissioned Lucija Tijunelis to produce some of her unique, signature art style to be used as a cover for her latest album. Two pieces [1][2] were chosen based on their originality and home-style flavor and can be seen in an album on this web gallery.
